UNABLE TO OPEN BONNET T6

Hello went to check the oil for busfest i was unable open the bonnet as the cable has gone slack. My question for you knowledgeable folk, is how do i open the bonnet from outside. Interweb suggests its a common fault. Any suggestions will be gratefully received.

Any chance you can repost this? I can't watch for some reason. I can't open my bonnet right now!

I've just had a look and it seems that he's removed it. If you lay underneath with a torch and look at the mechanism you should see where the cable attaches to, to move with a screwdriver

Hi Did you manage to track down a video to help you , my bonnet cable is just slack after pulling handle... I'm guessing it's detached from mech , .

Any advice welcomed

I have the same issue, would love to see that video that has been removed! Feels like a slack cable rather than broken...

I ended up taking it into VW to resolve apparently they told me mine had been incorrectly routed at factory

However when I got it back it did exactly the same a few days later but this time I disconnected cable at handle and used a pair of pliers and pulled like mad...which eventually Opened the bonnet...

I re-ran the cable myself and zip tied where I could in engine bay

Not happened since fingers crossed
