Tyre Width?

@StudleyGlass @YESBOY Thanks for the responses......So going from the table, 265 would be too wide. I'm now thinking do I run a 255/45 instead of a 265/40 at the front and 275/40 rears.....or do I risk the 265?.....

Has anyone on here run the 265 or bigger on a 8.5 rim and if so are there any pictures available?

I appreciate your responses

The chart shows that my 255/45/18 tyres fitted to my genuine VW 8j wheel straight off the production line is not compatible !!!!!!!!
Same goes for my Cayenne 295/35/21 on a 10 rim

I guess I will stick with the advice from the wheel specialist he does this day in day out after all

Sorry, not quite following why you'd tag me on that? I merely commented on the provision of a table that may be of use. I equally have 255 tyres on an 18" VW alloy.

Sorry DaveyB
Didn't read it properly I wasn't having a dig
At anybody
@YESBOY, I took no offence, just wondering why it linked back to me. No worries. Problem for us all is that it is a bit of a dark mess when it comes to getting wheels and tyres that are suitable for T32's, veiled in conjecture and uncertainty. We then have the dogged job of trying to match them, placing our hope in the honesty and integrity of those who exist only to sell their wares and part us with our hard earned money.
Personally that's why I am going for either 19's or 21's when the time comes that I have sufficient funds to replace my alloys.

I'm lucky that I found out that I don't need 860kg as my carevelle is only 1610kg front axle so found a nice set which are 815kg rated with a 102 tyre ......
Now just praying they fit nice with offset and chosen tyre, 2 weeks till they arrive fingers crossed

T32 is such hard work finding what you like

@StudleyGlass @YESBOY @DaveyB @BognorMotors question is will the 8.5j rim with 255/45/20s rub.....i know it all depends on the offset .....im just going to have to shut up and try and fit them.

You should be ok. This is a comparison of your fronts vs mine (mine orange, yours green) cursity of willtheyfit.com. Width wise your 10mm further away from hub and 10mm further out than mine (ET35 vs 25). Clearly yours are taller than mine with 20"s vs 19"s but plenty of people run 20s..... could you take the tyre down to a 40 profile?

I don't think so.... tbh StancedUk fitted my airride and wheels n tyres at the same time. They haven't told me I have spacers and didn't charge me so I expect I haven't

@Walski Thank you. very useful information.

I cannot find a 103 or above load rated tyre in the 255/20 fitment, closest I can get is a 265/40/20 104, however from reading up on this the 265 is too wide for the 8.5j front rims.
