Trailer Indicator Confirmation with VW tower

Just used the factory fitted 13pin electric towbar for the first time. Got the trailer hooked up the realised I needed an electrical adaptor 7pin-13pin, which I had completely forgot about. After unhooking, and poppimg to Halford to pick up a Ring adaptor; tested the lights, and there is no Audible or Visual confirmation to say that the blinkers are working. I've had loads of tow cars/vans, and I can never remember not having that confirmation devise to tell you thing are good. Is this correct? Is it really clever with the can-bus, and will use the VW panel to tell me there is a problem with the trailer indicators, and show nothing when things are good; could it be that clever?????
Is it worth popping a bulb out the trailer to see what happens??

I suspect it could be that clever, would be interesting to see what happens if you did remove a lamp

my VW Bora work like that, only let you know something was wrong.
I would think the T6 is the same as when i had my trailer on the other day, there was no indication or sound,

Mine flashes up on dash if there is a fault with trailer lights
