Towbar which one to go for?

@T6 dork that garage has been modified for those lifts, I like it. Could have done with those when I had my Mini. See you have abeam and pulley, got one on my garage going the other way, not used it in years

Westfalia detatchable towbar being fitted 2moz full function 13pin electrics Mobil fitting service from united Towbars £569 all in best I could find around this area only charged me extra £20 to go full function 13pin so couldn't grumble at that
I can atest that it is a lovely neat towbar as that's what I've got. The biggest issue I have is where to store it when not in use. It ends up being left in the garage. How has the install gone today?

Superb. It did take me a few attempts to figure out the way to get it to engage every time you stick it in - as the fitters went to the dealership and did mine before I picked her up, so no one showed me the trick.

Ok, @andythom188, here goes, apologies that this is in still pictures, but have not got a clue on how to make a youtube "how-to" video, maybe i need a how-to lesson on that.

Lock v unlock.
When it is unlocked the key is very slightly off centre towards the bottom.

When it is locked the key is off centre at the top. (not a good pic, sorry)

Removal.
To remove, firstly pull the release wheel outwards (you can then see the silver coloured centre bar).
WP_20170110_20_27_14_Pro.jpg

Then rotate the wheel clockwise, when the green pin is at the 12 o'clock position, the tow bar will literally drop out, so be ready to catch.

Insertion.
In order to insert it, first pull the release wheel outwards and turn the wheel clockwise till green pin is at 12 o'clock (exact same move as if you were removing it). At this point the wheel will actually lock in this position, and you can let go of the wheel, then simply put the neck in the hole and push rigidly upwards, as it hits home, the wheel will auto lock and the green pin will spin anti clockwise to circa 8o'clock.

At this point you can lock the key and remove it. Your towbar is now secure and can't be removed.

After I install the tow bar:
  1. I screw all parts and bumper together.
  2. or "local coder specialist" needs to visit when everything is taken apart, for easy access.
  3. Can I go wrong with a non removable tow bar? (like to have the piece of mind that I maybe haven't reconnected the detachable properly.)
