T6 key too big. Is there a smaller replacement version to be had?

Hey fellow T6 enthusiasts.

I've recently acquired a 2017 T6 TDI340 Multivan to complement my 2001 2.5LTDI T4b.

I'm sure that I am not the only person completely annoyed by the size of the T6 flip key and I am wondering if anyone can recommend a suitable aftermarket replacement which takes up less pocket real estate. And to think I thought the T4 key was too big :-D.

My van is well used and only came with one aftermarket flip key by Xhorse which works just fine, but since I need a spare anyways, I thought it might be best to try for a smaller version.
Photos of the key in question attached.

Any tips, tricks or recommendations greatly appreciated - both with and without remote lock capabilities.

Thank you-

That looks like it has been put inside a MK7 golf key, my standard T6 key is a bit smaller than that but not much.

The blade is the same as a 6N2 Polo or early MK4 golf and lots of those are converted into the MK7 case so no reason why you couldn't go the other way.

Cool, thanks for the info, I'll have a look.
Was hoping to go away from a flip key to a more traditionally shaped key like that (damn flip key always opens in my pocket anyways).
Just wondering if the transponder chip and electronics can be adapted to the T6 and if anyone has done this before?

You're right, it's huge. 🥸
hmmm, yeah, yours seems a lot smaller, I think Mat is onto it and I need to find a standard key if I can't figure out a non-flip version.
This one is 66mm L x 37mm W x 20mm thick when closed and a whopping 112mm Long when open (like it always seems to be when I pull it out from my pocket).
Thanks for the input!

I just make slip-on cases for my keys to prevent accidental presses of the buttons - also stops the key opening.

Ended up going with a key like this but without buttons.
Same size as the T4 key, but no remote lock/unlock (which I'm not used to anyways).
Only thing I'll miss is the long-press unlock windows down on the hot days.
