Replaced my sos battery today at a cost of £92. unfortunately It didn't clear the fault. I suspect it needs plugging in for a re program or software up dates.

It needs somehow initialising on VCDS, then you are good to go.Replaced my sos battery today at a cost of £92. unfortunately It didn't clear the fault. I suspect it needs plugging in for a re program or software up dates.

Where did you source the battery from, they seem to be like hens teeth to find stockReplaced my sos battery today at a cost of £92. unfortunately It didn't clear the fault. I suspect it needs plugging in for a re program or software up dates.

I'm based Newcastle area and main dealer had them in stock.Where did you source the battery from, they seem to be like hens teeth to find stock
Ah I don’t have VCDS only carista. It needs somehow initialising on VCDS, then you are good to go.
Tried with the VDCS without success, booked in on a ODIS system, so hopefully it will be fault free tomorrow. It needs somehow initialising on VCDS, then you are good to go.
Where you based Darran? I’m sure a local forum member with VCDS would assist for beer money.Ah I don’t have VCDS only carista.
I spoke with VW today, and despite having the codes detailed in the thread they want £150 to diagnose and £105 for the battery if it is that and then fitting on top.
I am happy to source a battery and fit myself but if it requires coding then I am screwed, unless I can find someone to do it for me.
Does anyone know what coding or process would be needed and if VCDS can do it ?
I'll try and upload....Great do you have some pictures how to proceed?

I’m in Cannock in Staffordshire, my understanding (and I am thick when it comes to these things) is that it needs to have an ODIS specific test to be run to force the vans intelligence to recognise that the battery has actually been changed. VW suggested this could not be done by standard ODB readers etc.Where you based Darran? I’m sure a local forum member with VCDS would assist for beer money.
Interesting.....they said that there was 2 on the shelf.I’m in the midlands and VW here said it’s not a stocked part and back orders have no lead time at the moment as they have a shortage.
I don't know if VCDS can do the job or not - I'm just pointing out that help may be at hand if can.I’m in Cannock in Staffordshire, my understanding (and I am thick when it comes to these things) is that it needs to have an ODIS specific test to be run to force the vans intelligence to recognise that the battery has actually been changed. Located behind the first picture, remove trim around dash, 2x 20mm torx at the bottom of clocks, pull the clocks toward you. behind that you will see the module, which is mounted on rubber feet. Turn over, 1 small screw and there it is. All in all not to bad to do.hello, How many screws to remove ? Easy? Where it is located?
Quelle version Vcds? 23.3.1?Tentative infructueuse avec le VDCS, réservation effectuée sur un système ODIS, donc j'espère que tout fonctionnera correctement demain.
