T6.1 SOS fault.

Replaced my sos battery today at a cost of £92. unfortunately It didn't clear the fault. I suspect it needs plugging in for a re program or software up dates.
2021 6.1.

It needs somehow initialising on VCDS, then you are good to go.

Where did you source the battery from, they seem to be like hens teeth to find stock

Ah I don’t have VCDS only carista.

I spoke with VW today, and despite having the codes detailed in the thread they want £150 to diagnose and £105 for the battery if it is that and then fitting on top.

I am happy to source a battery and fit myself but if it requires coding then I am screwed, unless I can find someone to do it for me.

Does anyone know what coding or process would be needed and if VCDS can do it ?

Where you based Darran? I’m sure a local forum member with VCDS would assist for beer money.

Not sure if anyone has tried, but in Odb11 module 75 there is a basic setting for the battery to remove the history. Don't know if that does anything or worth trying

I’m in Cannock in Staffordshire, my understanding (and I am thick when it comes to these things) is that it needs to have an ODIS specific test to be run to force the vans intelligence to recognise that the battery has actually been changed. VW suggested this could not be done by standard ODB readers etc.

I don't know if VCDS can do the job or not - I'm just pointing out that help may be at hand if can.👍

hello, How many screws to remove ? Easy? Where it is located?
Located behind the first picture, remove trim around dash, 2x 20mm torx at the bottom of clocks, pull the clocks toward you. behind that you will see the module, which is mounted on rubber feet. Turn over, 1 small screw and there it is. All in all not to bad to do.

Update. Caution cleared, tech said he cleared it without ODIS. he used VAGCOM, so it would seem possible on both systems.
