The error certainly can as I was offered this as an option byDoes anyone know if the sos function can be coded out via vcds.
wow my local dealer said £105 for the battery plus fitting on top. But said they wanted £150 to diagnose the fault first as they would not accept the codes I had from Carista and would have to diagnose before doing any repairVW fitted ours cost was £120 mostly labour.
I was told by an independent that the error on the dash could be coded out so it doesn’t display anymoreI dont think so, and thats probably deliberate.

Scratch that. Fault reappeared the next dayI bought a battery from eBay, this item though expensive at £99 was all I could find as cheaper ones that had the battery in stock came to a similar price once delivery was factored in.
Easy fit as described further up the thread. Note that I did it with the engine running, mainly because it was freezing cold.
Light went green straight away.
I then reset the fault with my OBDEleven and the fault immediately returned. Light went red.
So I disconnected and reconnected battery to get green, and currently dying intend to try to reset the fault ever again!
Get it scanned neil. That way you can can a definite answer rather than using the van as a parts cannon mateScratch that. Fault reappeared the next day![]()
