T6.1 Heater blowing Hot-Air only

This far, the inside of the 2 arms hit the stop in the middle. Hope that makes sense.

I bought a modified linkage from RRD that I trial fitted, when going fully cold it drives very slightly past the stop (this side failed is this the reason), going fully hot it's shy of the stop by the thickness of a piece of paper.
Is this normal and if not how is it calibrated, I did read other threads but none were successful.
Just out of interest the linkage has been modified with a washer and rivet, only time will tell if this is a good option have my reservations.17612254687658827760987894598717.webp

I need to do this job on my 6.1. I’ve got the replacement part and attempted to reach the hidden screw without removing any dash at all and that’s never going to happen.

Can I remove just the bit under the steering wheel? I read somewhere you have to start at the passenger side and remove the whole lot but I’m hoping that’s not the case.

We do them regularly, even did one yesterday . Yes start passenger side , glovebox , centre console, and drivers side lower trim otherwise you cannot see it properly or get your hands up there

The van is all back together and the heater is working nicely again. I noticed that the outer most vents on the dash always blow air, even if the direction is set to feet or windscreen, is that normal?
