T6.1 H7 & H15 Bulb Upgrades

I just bought a pair of H15 from the brand D-Lumia from Amazon which said canbus error free. This was my third set of trying as none of them worked but i could all send them back from the cheapest set to a pair of €170,- none of them worked. Since i could not return this Amazon ones i started fooling around as in the car they only came up as error and nothing was working, so i wondered since it’s an LED which is a diode i tool the plug out of the headlight measured which pin was what and found out you need to swap the 2 outside cabels on the connector and then they work fine with no errors. I was almost giving up and looking into ordering original headlight units so this saved me about 1500 now. Basically if you want to check before f***ing around with the cables just bend the middle pin on your LED light a little backwards so it comes closer to the backside pin turn your lights on and plug the bulb in the connector basically you put your LED in backwards on the plug if the light works just open the connector swap the 2 outside wires from place bend the pin on your LED back to original and tadaaaa ot works. Also the H7 i changed out for LED bulbs without any errors

Hi All,
This is my 1st post here, thanks for the hospitality, and please be patient...
So,
Has anyone tried these H15 LEDs from Osram?
OK, they are not street approved, but seems there are none else. These at least should be better quality of no name alternates. Possibly they should work with the CAN too.

This is a pity for us that have an Entry T6.1 (with the H15 and H7 pair).
While there are good and legal (in EU) solutions for the H7 dipped beam , there is none for the H15 DRL/ High Beam.
That is where LEDs would be more useful , IMO.
In fact it is opinionable that LEDs improves the dipped beam in the T6.1 reflector light, but I think it would bring only advantages on the DRL and the High Beam. Hardly the DLR would create any issue to incoming traffic, due to its low power, and the High Beam, conversely, it is going to blind anyone incoming in any case. I have another car with factory LED projectors, and I assure you, you got to turn them off (manually or automatically) if anyone is coming around in a quarter mile radius.

So, missing any legal H15 LED bulb, for the moment I have installed those regular halogens from Maruta... Here you can compare them with the originals , the Maruta is on the left of course.

Their galss is blue (you can see it clearly also staying in front of the van), the light that comes out is whit-ish, but still yellower than my dipped LED H7 (Osram LED Speed). Also they are not very powerful, sure less than the originally installed H15s (again regular Osrams). I do not mind that beacuse very rarely I use the main beams, and I like the color of the DRLs. In practice, since in my setup the dipped beam stay ON when clicking the high beams ON, you barely notice the latter.

But the installtion was very easy, on my run f the mill Transporter T6.1.
Just remove the rubber covers, unscrew the old T15, and screw in the new one. Nothing else.
I want also here to confute some mithes that you need superpowers to change an H15 or that you must make strange maneuvers like removing and reinstalling the socket with the cables.
None of that. You need just to hold firmly the big rib that is on the lamp bottom firmly between your thumb and index fingers, PRESS forward (in the direction of norma car travel), then keep pressing and ROTATE - CounterClockWise for removal, ClockWise for installation. Like any normal rigth-handed screw, very natural. This is valid for BOTH lamps, left and right.
When you install the new bulb, keep the contacts approxmately at hour 10 position, insert the bulb, you must PRESS forward even more, until the 3 lamp contacts engage sideways the socket, and ONLY then , rotate. They will go in like a sharm. See the picture below, I hope it explains all.

In case you experience troubles matching the bulb contacts with the light's socket, smearing a little on oily "contact cleaner spray" on them (before installing it) should help. Do not use the dry type, it won't help. It wasn't necessary in my case anyway.
Do not forget to reinstall the rubber cover when you are done. I have attached here also a picture of the empty light inside, after removing the bulb. You may be able to see 3 small bulges around the hole. There is where the 3 small springs present on the bulb socket go against, so you have to press forward to go over them and lock the bulb in postion, while rotating.

I have led H15 in our headlights ,Drl's are super white , high beam very bright but barely used as I don't drive in the dark very often

Hi, I belive you, and I am sure they are of great help driving at night, but, I meant "Street Legal" and installed on a T6.1, not retrofitted on a T5/T6.
To my knowledge there is :
-None legal/approved/MOT-TÜV compliant in EU (quite sure). I am guessing same or worse for the UK.
-None that fits plug & play on a T6.1, without rewiring/adapters (not sure there are different opinions about that). I am not speaking only about CAN errors, I mean bare function.

The problem I've seen with LED H15s on the road is the much brighter DRL lamp is in a main beam reflector. I slight bump in the road and it looks like a flash of main beam.

It's a pity there isn't an aftermarket bumper grille DRL like there is for the 5.1 & 6.

Do you guys get NARVA bulbs in the UK?
It looks like NARVA do a 4200k H15 Halogen bulb (same colour as the Osram Nightbreaker 4200k) ?

Narva H15 12V 15/55W Intense Bl - 48096BL

Not cheap though!

The Osram is probably cheaper (not really sure of the AUD exchange).
At similar prices why would you buy such strange stuff?
