T5 2.5 AXD - Looking for a Turbo Cleaning Guide

Heya, we just bought a T5 2006 2.5L AXD 130TDI camper.
Drives well and pulls well, but on the way home from buying it, it went into limp mode (but without showing any engine lights on the dash). Felt like there was no boost at all and barely go over 40 mph. Very quickly just turned engine off and on, back to normal and got home. Our friends van has this and multitude of threads out there on sticky turbo vanes. Seller said he's never had it before and that last few weeks only done short journeys. I feel the seller is genuine hence we bought it from him, has been looked after well. Came with fresh service and correct engine oil.

It was a nice 3 hour journey home, so I feel like that is enough of an italian tune up to hopefully not get it again, if the vanes were just on the cusp of sticking, so some more high rmp driving may temporarily solve it. Thing is, I'm not a temporary fix sort of guy and I like taking things apart and solving issues properly. I have seen a nice forum guide on how to properly strip the turbo and really clean the vanes (but it wasn't clear what turbo for what engine). It also just convinced me that any oven cleaner sprayed into the exhaust side in-situ just wouldn't really work.

The fault code was P0299 Turbo underboost.

So, has anybody found a good guide how to strip this turbo and done it succesfully? If anyone has a Mazda or knows Mrniceguy videos, I'm hoping for something of that quality, so I don't have to think as much hah!

Extra questions. Anybody had a van that just developed this fault and sprayed the clearer in-situ as it's often suggested as a first fix and actually seen improvements? How long did it last? Obvi varies by driving style, so anecdotally speaking.

What really is a recondition turbo? Is it basically what I'm looking to do, strip and clean? Maybe new actuator?

Are there any turbo service kits available for doing what I propose?

Is this a private or a business seller?

Private seller. If it was a bussiness I would dispute or have a few months warranty to possibly claim on, but just a private sale unfortinetly.
IMO not worth returning, the van is a good fit for us and likely... the next van of this age and mileage will have different hidden gremlins anyway (and eventually the same one, as this is a common fault apparently).

This is the guide I liked. Can anyone confirm if this is the same or similar turbo on my 2.5 AXD? Or offer a similar guide for it?

Before dismantling the turbo I would check for air leaks in charge air pipes - between turbo and engine intake manifold. E.g. split charge air cooler (aka intercooler).
Check this below - not the same engine but AXD has similar arrangement.
