Hi all
New to the site , was wondering if anyone could help ?
My t5 won’t start for some reason , it had been stood for about 2wk and not started
wene I came to start it there was nothing dash all lit up as normal but wene I tuned
the key nothing happens not even a click . A colleague said it may be the starting
Relay as the battery is fully charged. I believe this is located under the battery tray
but wouldn’t know the number off the relay . Up until this issue the van had been
fine . Any ideas would be much appreciated. Thanks all .

Hi @KfcFred
What year / engine size is the van? Manual or auto?

If it’s a manual, try pushing/towing it to bump start it.

Sounds like your starter motor has siezed up.

Have someone to hold ignition key at "start" position and give a good knock on starter solenoid.

May be worth using a spare key to lock and then unlock the vehicle I had an intermittent issue on a VW Caddy which finally boiled down to a faulty key unlocking the doors, but not sending a signal to the immobiliser.

I thought if there was a starter problem I would still get a clicking sound but theres nothing .
Not always, if it is the solenoid that is siezed then you will not get the clicking sound. As mmi said, hold the key in the start position and have someone give it a knock. Make sure the van is in neutral or you will flatten them if it starts

Hi all
Yes it was the solenoid /starter , I did as you said , gave the solenoid a few
good walks as someone turned the key ,now it didn’t start but did make a
limp attempt to , so I’ve ordered a new starter that I pick up tomorrow and
all being well will be back on the road .
Thanks for the info (phillh & T5_Kombi_Rob) .
