Finally found a niggle with my T6.1 - the sliding door doesnt open from the inner handle.

Door card off shows the handle is pulling the cable, and the other end of the cable is pulling the sliding lever on this unit...

But then the unit isnt operating the cable to release the latch. Outside handle works fine.

Im guessing this unit is at fault. Do any of you fine fellows know what its called?

It might have to do with Children Safety lock. Did you try to enable-disable from the console? Mine , similar van as yours, alway throws error messages to the ECU.

Ah, cheers. That hadn't even occurred to me. Ill report back.

Checked - it was indeed the childlock!

Being a converted panel van it never even occurred to me there would be a child lock on what was originally a cargo door, but there it is.

Many thanks to @FWhite , who is clearly an experienced detective, for pointing me in the right direction.
I had the same issue. Mentioned it when it had its service. Turned out I'd knocked the child safety on but didn't notice. Like you I didn't think it applied to the sliding door as it was a panel van. I felt a proper narna when the mechanic showed me the problem 🤤🥴

Im still surprised they put a childlock on the cargo door of a panel van. I mean, how often does 12 boxes of potatoes try to use the handle to escape?
