Sliding doors temperamental

Hello, I have an issue with my sliding doors, it started with just the drivers sliding door were I’d have the issue of the door not opening from inside or outside. I noticed that the button wasn’t popping up, pressing it down and then locking and unlocking using remote would sort it out (most of the time). But now it’s spread to the passenger sliding door and the drivers side one is fine. But the solution to the drivers side doesn’t fix the passenger side.
Has anyone else had this issue?

It’s a 2018. Are actuators expensive to replace and is that something I can sort myself?

Genuine ones are eye wateringly expensive but may be the best option. Pattern parts are much cheaper. Yer pays yer money and takes yer choice on that.

Easy enough to do depending on how handy you are with a lump hammer really (don't use a lump hammer). Hard to say.

I’m not hugely mechanically minded so I don’t know why things aren’t working. But I’m pretty good at following YouTube videos to fix issues once someone tells me the what the issue is lol

There are also posts on the forum about fixing them - the grease dries out. Drill a hole spray in some lubricant typically fixes it.

Forgot to mention that sometimes when I drive off the doors sometimes struggle to lock. I could hear them clicking a few times before the carjacking lock worked

My slider wouldn’t lock / unlock on the key button. Drilling a hole in the mechanism and spraying in some 3 in 1 oil and cycling the manual button a few times, cured the problem.

I cleaned the case off with brake cleaner on a rag and plugged the hole with some bathroom silicon.

Took the panel off, found a thread with a photo of where to drill the hole. But I’m not sure how much of the 3 in 1 I should spray, how much is too much. Did you guys take the actuator out to drill the hole?

I drilled the hole in situ and sprayed no more than 2 seconds worth of spray.

I drilled in situ and blew shavings off as I went to avoid bits dropping inside when the drill broke through.
