Sidelights as DRL

I am wanting to build a pair of headlamps out of my candle lights removed from my T6 when I fitted the H7 lights.
I want to split the lights and fit a projector style lamp in each of the 2 reflectors.
By doing this the inner lamp will be a main beam but will lose the DRL.
I understand the genuine T6 LED lights use the sidelights as DRL instead of a separate light?
So the question is does anyone know how to code the sidelights as DRLs?

Not sure it would be that simple as the LED headlights connect to different terminals in the BCM as accept voltage differently, the LED headlights have control boxes bolted to them for low beam and DRL that take that voltage and control the headlight (LED units can dim the DRLs)

The projector only occupies the central part of the reflector perhaps you could drill part of the remaining reflector and refit a DRL lamp ?
