Has anyone printed roof gutter rail trim pieces to fill the gutter between the top of the windscreen and pop top to reduce wind noise?

I am the source myself, as I created the model myself :);)
I'm attaching two files for you: the CAD file (both sides) and the STL file (right side only). You can add text as you see fit and adjust the length as you like. I hope you can handle the file format. Feel free to post a picture when you're finished!

Hi would it be possible to get a copy of the files for the window vents.

What printer is that?
I need that printer.
I yearn for that printer.
Must have that printer to put in the corner and gather dust as probably won't read the instructions.

😂

I'll tell you, but dont blame me for your impulse purchase and inevitable obsession with printing off everything you can for your desk, kitchen, garage, van etc.

I printed on the Bamboo Labs A1 Mini. Got it on their spring sale last year. (It's on sale now for £149). Very good printer out the box. Has a small build volume though, but they do have the regular A1 which has a larger print area.

The filament is matt black PLA, which looks great

So I've been 3d Printing for almost 10 years so I've made a number of additions to the van. Let me know what you think. All of the mods are printed in ASA so suitable for heat.

1) This is a replacement DSG Gear knob. It cam about when I saw people doing the Tiguan mod but I wasn't confident in melting the pull rod to turn it 90 degrees and wanted something that was 100% reversable. I bought a cheap universal gaiter from Ali express and a standard manual one so I could use the complete frame and loose the side indicators. This is about the 60th revision as I always try to make it smaller or better but I think I am there now with this.

2) The surround that came with the alpine I wasn't impressed with as it looked to smooth so I made a new one that works a treat.

3) The spare USB Charger lead from the Halo9 seemed to need to go somewhere so I made some new button blanks and added it in as well as adding a USB C Charger.

4) New drink holder. Again I've made a few changes to this over the years but it works for me and is just slide into the useless side pocket and pulls out without any damage to the vehicle.

5) I Use a quadlock phone case for my EMTB so I made a mount that is adjustable that hooks over the fascia vent so again is 100% reversable.

6) Standard adaptation for extra cup holder in the useless tray area.

7) Decided I wanted to make a box with a lid to fill in the large hole on the top of the dash that was just a junk space so started off with just a box that escalated into a luxury box with integral LED lights that is powered from a battery so I didn't have to drill into the dash for power. its got a slip ring on the hinge for power and a photosensitive control board so it doesn't waste battery in daylight and fully lined in fake Alcantara. I like it and it looks neat.

8) Got fed up with moving the table around so I made some clips to attach it to the rear door for stowage.

9) Whilst redoing the electrical I was concerned about all of the cables going into the Cerbo so I made a cable clamp to keep it neat and stop any of them coming out.

9.webp

10) Again with the electrical I wanted to make the switches etc neater so I made a custom fuse holder / switch panel as well as loads of other clips and covers to neaten it all up.

10.webp10a.webp

11) Whilst redoing the roof solar I made these pieces to neaten up the roof and also keep the panel above the ridges whilst still allowing air flow beneath the panel.

11.webp11a.webp

12) Made these pods to make the onboard CCTV more subtle

12.webp

13) Finally made this fuse holder for my electrical system to keep it neat and stop them rattling around.

There are lots of other bits that are now covered up but they look much better in real life than in the photos.

I'm new here but thought I'd share my little 3d print. I recently bought a T6, and the table was missing the plastic bit on the bottom of the table. So I threw together a little plug. It's not perfect but I was pressed for time, so it required interference fitting with a persuader! 27662.webp27186.webp

I removed the original cup holder on the drivers side dash and reprinted it as a phone holder. I bought a phone USB Dock Station and took out the cable. The cable mounts into the bottom of the new 3D part. The USB plugs into the dash socket, removed and routed under the dash.
So now I can drop my phone into the cup-dock, and use Android Auto on the OEM radio.View attachment 281293View attachment 281294View attachment 281295
Looking to design something similar to this, but cannot seem to get the original cip holder out. Do you have to take the dash apart to get to it?
