Replacement Grille With Built-in 230v Socket

I'm no expert on this, but I got an egrille (decided not to fit), but during my planning phase, I worked a route out from the egrille traversing to the left (looking at the front) which worked its way along the grill and round the left wing and to a grommit going into the cab which is sited just above the brake pedal area. seemed an easier route, but then again I wasn't involving the battery in my design. Worth a think.

Cheers

I have new tools, the weather is nice and I’ve run out of excuses not to do this…

I need to set the tracker to “garage/service” mode but is there anything I need to be aware of before I pull out the battery? Not going to be able to sort this rats nest out with it in.View attachment 329143View attachment 329144
I’m wondering why the 3 pin socket was installed facing up? If it’s angled forward the bonnet closes without issues and the cable routes out neatly between the bonnet and grill without any modifications at all.

After foolishly tempting fate with the above comment, I recently tried to drive away with the EHU cable attached to the eGrill. 🤦‍♂️

TBF, I wasn't on a campsite - this was on my driveway and the van was parked nose-first, up against a wall. I tried to reverse a few feet (aware that the EHU cable was plugged in), but when I tried to drive forwards to return the van to its original position, the cable snagged under the front wheel and out popped the EHU cable... along with the male receiver part of the eGrill. 🤬

Fortunately, it was a simple repair (even for a cack-handed twonk) - like wiring a 3-pin plug and then the receiver just twisted back into place. The only "damage" was the loss of a small torsion spring that would otherwise pull the flap closed. 🙏
