I had to drill through 3 skins of metal with a tapered cutter and this allowed me to put a piece of hose pipe over the hook up cable going through the skins. Then I drilled through the 4th skin of metal and fitted a cable grommet to protect the cable inside the van.
I removed what metal filings I could and then pumped in loads of wax oil before fitting the socket and cable.
The electric sockets aren’t sitting on the floor it’s the angle of the picture taken.
John.

Does anyone know how to get the filler pipe into the cover from underneath the van. Under the plastic underbody cover there is a gromet how to get from there to the panel

There is a gap between the outside skin and the corner support structure just wide enough to get LPG filler tubing through, plenty of space for a 3 core electric cable. Take off any interior panels on the side you are working on and it will be visible.

Thanks, I was hoping to put a 30mm filler pipe up there for my underslung water tank, does anyone know if that is possible. I cant see the structure of the corner

If you look at my pictures in post 18, where the diesel and water fill points are there are (from memory) two thicknesses of steel close together (painted outer, gap of about 10mm then a further thickness of steel, I can't remember if there is a third one further back but) I took the diesel filler through a tight downward bend then came out behind the black plastic underbody.

OK, so mine can be opened with the tailgate still closed, the Hafele inset hinges push the edge closest to the tailgate inwards as they open.

I put my EHU socket up in the top corner where it has a straight run through to the inside of the van, the bits where the filler is, are 3 layers thick with gaps between them.

Hi Grim Reaper,

Did you need to modify the water inlet to fit or just cut holes through the 2 van skins. I have purchased one to the same but look like a tight fit

You need to go down quite sharply from the back of the filler to come out under the van behind the plastics where the spare wheel sits

So, the problem with that is the bit they've left to fit things into, is three thicknesses of steel with various amounts of space between them. plus the last thickness is the corner part of the inside of the van, if you go through there you'll see it inside the van, it's not hidden by the interior panelling.
The bit that is single thickness is the bit where they've fastened the black hinge mount plate to. That's the easy way through to the interior of the van.

Thanks for replying, the inlet I have looks the same as yours just conscious it seemed to big for the void at 86mm. I give it a go later

I used a long shaft die grinder to enlarge a drilled starter hole which allowed me to get the shape I needed to get the filler hose through, down and out underneath

Thanks, I’ve just ordered some die grinder bits, made the hole but like you said it needs fettling to get the hose to fit and sit well.
