I decided to have the near side rear quarter cut out and a window fitted, did some research, here of course. Should have been plain sailing, ordered the window from VW using Reg. No. and stating I wanted a match to my sliders, collected it and paid about £72. Wrong colour, light green, Aaagh! Did some more research and I have to thank Andythom188 for posting the correct part No's. which I gave to VW (their computers struggled to find the correct Part Number) Re-ordered, only to find that the "Green Privacy" required another £82!
The guys at VW recommended a company called Halifax Windscreens and I duly organised a fitting day.
Was a bit worried about how the interior would look after fitting and what I'd have to do to the existing lining afterwards to get it looking right. Nick and his guys (Halifax Windscreens) made us feel welcome, offers of tea and biscuits regularly, advice, laughs and most of all, did a great job on the glass (plus the lining).
The internal shot doesn't show the existing lined panel that needs clipping back on below the window.
It's really satisfying when you find people who know their onions and you come away without any niggling regrets over workmanship.
