Randomly van struggles to turn over/ won't turn over

Hi, I have been noticing that my van is struggling to turn over randomly, So if left for a couple days the first time i turn the key it will labour and take 3-4 attempts for it to start, or i let it try , then turn ignition off and retry, and it fires up straight away.
The other scenario, is i will have start stop on, after driving for about an hour , when coming up to lights the van turns off when in neutral, then the lights change, put foot on clutch it will hardly turn over, will have to turn off the ignition and turn it on again for it starts up, starts as though there is no issues.. something odd going on.. Could this be the starter motor on its way out?

First check would be that the earth lead from the engine to the subframe is in good condition.

Would this be the lead from the battery? Or is there another one, also where would this be located? Cheers
