Poorly Touran, cracked sump

Ran over a huge bit of pipe (from a concrete pump I think, 3 meters long, 20cm wide, heavy metal end). Drove about a mile to get to a safe stop, car was slowly shutting down, oil pressure then revs limited to 3000rpm. Quite a big pool of oil underneath once we'd actually stopped so it didn't dump it all at once.

It's in with Stoneacre for insurance assessment, chap said he doubted the engine would be ok ... what do we think? I'd be surprised if the engines knackered personally.

Current progress is that they have permission from insurance to put a new sump on, put some oil in and see what's what.

Yeah I was thinking that myself, unfortunately it's at the garage now ...

Not sure, it was a pretty big impact from the noise it made.

Golfs have a plastic sump, absolute sh1te idea.
I've got a replacement ECS steel sump ready to fit on mine.

Sorry, yeah, its a late 2019 Touran, 1.5 litre, 150bhp I think, don't know the engine code.

Well apparently they've fixed it and it's coming back tomorrow. Bit nervous it's going to blow up. Not sure what recourse I'd have if it does.
