Passenger Side Wing Mirror plug

Hi,
Just fitted a replacement Passenger Side Wing Mirror, but the new Wing mirror wiring was different to the damaged Wing mirror. The photos below show a plug which connected into a female plug behind the door card. Does anyone know what this plug is for?
Photo 163542 shows the where the black wire dissappears into the mirror casing.

A google of the part number comes back as an aerial connector.

Cheers. It must have something to do with VW head unit. I have an aftermarket head unit which is still working OK. So I guess it's nothing to worry about?

So, would this aerial connection only be required if the VW factory radio was fitted?

If your original aerial didn’t have the same plug then the aerial your stereo uses is elsewhere. I believe passenger mirror contains the dab aerial, driver side fm aerial
