I drove a little and turned the heater and such on but made no difference, only stopping in the hard sholder brought the temp down. Under load it went straight up after 10 seconds or so.Is the engine actually hot?
Water level fine, but is the engine actually hot?
Sensor damage?
Tried turning on the heater on hot in the cab to bleed off heat?
I have no idea if it was genuine, it was an independant garage that did it.Thermostat stuck closed?
Water pump impeller breaking off is very unusual.
Are we assuming that it was a genuine water pump that was installed?
As I mentioned in post #10, a known weakness with the engine driven water pump design. As @Dellmassive says in post #20
It would appear the pump is a poor design, well worth considering installing the non shrouded pump type.

Fair. It was Holme Valley MOT in Huddersfield. I was thinking about reaching out to them but I don't have the spare time to tell companies they should train their staff/check their work.Might be an idea to say who did the previous belt to save anyone losing an engine in the future.
Maybe there’s been other similar cases, not suggesting there’s any chance of compensation but they just might take some action to improve the situation.Fair. It was Holme Valley MOT in Huddersfield.
