Hi all, I have done barn doors to tailgate swap 2018 t6 t32 4motion, have run the wires and ready to code, have obd11 but not pro subscription, if I upgrade to pro would that give me the ability to change the coding to tell the van it now has a tailgate and add all the changes, tailgate locking, hrw etc
Thanks in advance

Yes, OBDeleven can be used to make required coding changes.

Hi again all, i have subscribed to obd eleven pro now...there is a large amount of changes possible and seems like a very handy tool !
I had a quick look and changed a few things but unable to get my tailgate handle or remote locking to work yet.
I managed to code in my heated rear window after completely wiring it in, so hopefully my wiring for the outer handle/ tailgate locking is sound as I did at the same time a few days ago.
On searching for coding help to swap from barn door to tailgate there are subtle differences in coding terminology from vcds, it refers to inset lid handle for example rather than rear lid switch.
I can also see it has all the bytes and bit numbers for writing the long coding too rather than changing the written word, such as heated rear window installed for example.

If I post my long coding would anyone be able to have a quick look to see if they can spot where I'm going wrong.

I have 4.8v at the green wire pin 13 t17o for lid outer handle which hopefully means I have bcm monitoring power to the tailgate connector

The left picture was my first attempt so the old value coding was the state of the van before I changed anything

The right picture New value is how it is now after swapping a few other bits.

2018 t6 t32 highline 4motion barn door panel van now with added tailgate, HRW and rear wiper.

Here are some pics of the long coding written options

The outer handle is dead and I can't hear the central locking motor moving when locking / unlocking

Can anyone point me in the right direction please !

Great thank you ! actually its in the first 2 pics which are hopefully visible ?

I notice I have rear lid soft touch active, is that some kind of electric closing, because I don't have that !

Please post the coding as text string - use OBDeleven > Control units > Central Electrics > Long coding (tap and hold to copy)

ok doke thanks standby !

Byte 01: current value AC - change to A8
Byte 02: current value 19 - change to 39
Byte 07: current value 31 - change to 11

Hmm no different sadly...although I did have a fault code before changing the coding, rear lid closing feedback or something I was too keen to recode I forgot to look at it properly before deleting it.
I will double check my wiring and bcm pin locations and go from there in the morning !
Appreciate the help so far !

1) Does the dash show tailgate open/closed correctly?
2) What does OBDeleven Central electrics live data show on channel 6 when door is open/ajar/closed?
3) What does OBDeleven Central electrics live data show on channel 8 when you operate tailgate outside switch?
4) What does OBDeleven Central electrics live data show on channel 11 when you operate tailgate outside switch?
5) Does OBDeleven Central electrics Output test - Rear Lid Unlocking - activate the lock solenoid (release the tailgate)?

Hi I have an update..

1) Does the dash show tailgate open/closed correctly?

Yes ! Tailgate shows closed and open when tailgate opened.

2) What does OBDeleven Central electrics live data show on channel 6 when door is open/ajar/closed?

No 2 and no 3 in list both change from closed to open when tailgate opened

3) What does OBDeleven Central electrics live data show on channel 8 when you operate tailgate outside switch?

Nothing changes when outside switch operated

IMG_7644.PNG

4) What does OBDeleven Central electrics live data show on channel 11 when you operate tailgate outside switch?

Inactive before during and after operating outer door handle

IMG_7636.PNG

5) Does OBDeleven Central electrics Output test - Rear Lid Unlocking - activate the lock solenoid (release the tailgate)?

Yes ! It releases the tailgate onto its latch so partially open ( outer handle dead )

When looking back at previous screen shots I saw this, do you think it refers to the outer door switch rather than an internal extra release switch as it refers to an internal release in another option to change…

Central locking / Rear lid : Release button inside Lid
Not installed

The other option available to change which refers to an internal opening switch which is currently....

Central locking / tailgate
Tailgate, auto lock, no internal opening switch selected.

Good. The "position sensors" are good.

Good. "Ejection" circuitry is good.

You need to see a change in channel 8 (value 4) for the system operate correctly. How about shorting the pin 13 to ground?

Well, the OBDeleven labels are from users - without verification. Anyways, quite possibly they relate to switch inside.
I would say your coding is now correct - after the changes.
Perhaps we could double-check? Please post the current coding

Great thank you for the help so far and feels like it can't be far away ! Here's the present coding..
