My Brakes Are Snatching

Basically, when I move the van off the driveway in the mornings I just dab the brake to stop at the drop kerb and my passenger (usually the dog or the wife) gets a mouthful of windscreen.

It's the same sort of effect you'd get if you stamped on the brakes but I'm only applying a small amount of pressure. By the time I've reached the end of the road the brakes then appear to sort themselves out and operate normally.

Any ideas what this could be?

Maybe surface Rust on the discs??
Moisture rust from sitting over night??
This clears off after a few hundred feet this may be why you’re getting the bite on first braking??

Maybe

You might have a good point there. Just checked and there is quite a bit of surface rust on the discs. I don't use the van daily so there's plenty of time for some rust to build up.

Nice one. I'll close the case, for now.

No worries
I too noticed this after the van had been sat around..
Glad there’s a possibility you may of solved this issue ?? :)
