I was just Googling the name of the VictronConnect connectors (and didn’t manage to find it) when I came across MagCode.

Has anyone here used them before? They look like a neat solution for trickle charging (which is why I was Googling the name of those connectors.. my cigarette socket has partially melted the Victron cigarette plug  ).

12v cig plugs/socket are good for up to about 8A for long term.

Above that they get too hot.

10A should be the max for short duration.

The Victron quick disconnect are rated for 15/20A.

Those mag thing seem

expensive for what they are.

And appear to have less metal surface area than a 12v socket, which will again cause heating.

Not sure about 25A?.. tho it say MAX, they don't state the continuous rated current at 12v?

The Victron disconnect s are tried and tested.
