Can you switch on the rear camera when not in reverse, to say check on a trailer you are pulling? Or does it only display when you flick into reverse?

That's great, one other question. When parked up can you stream any movies etc to the display? If not there is a head unit you would recommend that could do that? One that also allows the reserving camera and parking sensors. Whilst I like head unit the only thing above using my mobile is the reversing camera option. Just trying to look at other pro's to upgrade the head unit other than the integrated phone opens and android auto works very good on the phone

The device is perfect then, just need to sort out the cash to get one fitted

To add, this unit also has Wireless Android Auto (if your phone is compatible).
Just needs a couple of settings changed on the phone
I find the wireless not always 100% reliable but handy for short trips
