Insurance Companies

One of the questions on the insurance companies statement of facts should be ‘Are you a member of the National Trust’.
It’s pretty scary following some cars heading to my local NT property, clearly not able to spot an oncoming vehicle or hedge until the last few seconds.

Not to mention it pretty much automatically puts you in the wrong if you have a smack.

Youll have to buy insurance anyway to get your vehicle back cnce its seized and under those circumstances most wont issue cover, so you could well lose your wheels.

And if you kill someone youre in a world of dont-drop-the-soap pain. Youll be right down the pecking order for a 'mere' motoring offence and the ODC's will passmyou round like currency. If you like having silent farts and having to wear nappies for the rest of your life then be my guest.
I’m not sure you’d get prison for that, killing someone by driving seems to be the only legal way of getting away with killing someone without prison time.

My insurance is a sod. I’ve had a notification only and two claims (the claims are on wpork vehicles) in the last 3 years, plus due to my job they see me as a high risk driver. I’ve been considering applying for my IAM as I’ve got a transferable certification for it, but whether it would actually bring my insurance down, I don’t know.

When I got my new van insured my two claims were under a year old, and I hadn’t worked out the cost of the conversion I was going to do, so I was just asking for cover for the value of the van plus the money I got for my old van, which is the conversion money I have….. but actually now I've sat down and thought about it, conversion cost is about 1/3 of the money I had, camping stuff is about 1/6, and then doing the leisure battery and diesel heater eventually will be about the other 1/3……. So I whacked in a quote with Brentacre the other day and it was much much better…… so come next march when I need to renew, I may have better luck I hope.
