Purchase made. I will update as and when the goods arrive. I’ve gone for a second hand VW Golf seat pad (surely they are similar) If I need to I will solder the Transporter plugs onto the Golf element to keep the connectivity. What can go wrong
Hello fellow T6rs. Has anyone toyed with the idea of using a second hand replacement element from something with a similar sized seat? The Skoda Octavia element I found on eBay is about £22 delivered. Surely that’s worth a punt, or is there so,etching I’m missing?
My passenger seat heating has been acting up intermittently. The OEM heating elements (7E0963557C, 7E5963555) cost a fortune these days, so I decided to replace the faulty one with these aftermarket alternatives (€5.25 each).
I’ve already bought four of them. I will, of course, be transplanting the OEM temperature sensor onto the new pads to keep everything working correctly.
Repaired my drivers side seat base. Brought an element from a company in Lithuainia and subsequently get hit with customs tax. Anyway after wrestling with the leather seat cover I swapped the faulty base element and all is good. I carried out some resistance checks and found the temp sensor was open circuit. All good now.
