IMG_4477.jpegDoes anyone know how the heck I open this 12v connector from my fresh water pump to replace the pump?

The cap unscrews...

But looking at that it looks a bit melted?

Maybe just replace the plug and cable?

Thanks Dell, I’ll have another go at unscrewing. Definitely not melted seems fine. If I were to just replace it, any idea what this type of connector is called? The pump just comes with a cable.

Various names..

But type In 12v caravan plug and you will see them.

Well, thanks to @Dellmassive I managed to open the Hella connector and connect a new pump. Still would not work. Removed most of the kitchen to trace wires and prove that the socket the hella was plugging into had 12v when the control panel is on and the tap micro switch activated - it did. So, I thought, new pump and 12v to socket can only mean the Hella plug itself is faulty.

New one arrived today, wired it in and still dead. Now thinking my replacement pump could be duff as well. Anyone got any further thoughts? #waterpump #freshwater

Okay, so to update with progress…. In frustration I disconnected the Rj45 connector at the back of the Sargent control panel and reset it. And it worked! New pump seems much less powerful than previous one, despite being same rating. So, thinking was it the panel all along? I reconnected the old pump and it didn’t work.

Not sure why the panel reset may have worked but, at least I now have running water again.

Possibly moved a loose connection when you unplugged the cable?

Loose fitting plug?
