Washer pump issue - T6 2016

Hi all, looking for some support / direction. Reading the forum it's definitely not a new issue with multiple people having problems with the washer pump no longer running.

What i've done so far:
Front wipers work as expected
Bonnet closed
Checked SC36 fuse - blue 15A and replaced just in case
Removed the washer pump and checked connector all ok
Removed pump again and powered using a separate 12v power supply - pump works but sluggish at starting
Connected my voltmeter to the connector, 12v when stalk pulled. With the engine running the voltage as expected increases, but no change
Plugged back in and doesn't work. Ordered new pump
Replaced pump, still doesn't work
So in summary, there is 12v to the connector with a new pump and even the old pump, but still doesn't work. Starting to think there is a current drop?

Any thoughts or maybe next steps?
Thanks

Did you check that you have an earth? You say you have 12v, did you put the multimeter across both pins at the connector?

Hi all, sorry for the delayed response. After some further testing I found the harness GND wire isn't connected to GND. A quick test was to take PIN 1 from the harness to the PUMP and then took a separate wire from the van chassis to the other PIN of the pump. The pump then worked perfect when pulling the stork. Extra test, took PIN from the harness(GND) and tested for continuity to the chassis. This failed. My challenge now is try and figure out why the GND wire is no longer connected. Thoughts on how i could fix this? or look to take the GND from the fog light? water pump.webp
