Focal speakers being fitted this weekend - amp or sub next?

I'm getting some Focal speakers fitted by a local ICE specialist this weekend on my 17 plate Kombi. I'm happy with the head unit for now but am looking to do a few more upgrades as funds allow and was planning on having an amp fitted as the next stage. The company fitting the speakers are recommending a sub fitting rather than an amp - any thoughts?

Which model speakers are they?

Focal ISU 200 UI series 8 inch

TBH the company aren't doing a hard sell - they reckon the speakers will make a big difference anyway and so think I should see what I think of them before I spend anymore - I'd just thought of going speakers - amp - replacement head unit (but only really want that for car play anyway)

An amp will bring the speakers to life imo. I've fitted Blam speakers to mine and on their own they are a big improvement, but now I've added an amp its better still.

we amp them straight away, By using a very compact amp. as they will be night and day difference over standard , but not amping them will not improve it that much . Also it’s a lot of speaker to rely on the factory tiny built in amp

any suggestions for a compact amp ?
We do a plug and play Kenwood digital amp that will fit behind the top glovebox, 4 channel and also offer the optional add on to retain The fader
£146.99 delivered or £196.99 inc the optional add on for fader

Big thanks to Absolut5 for the time they spent yesterday re. an amp - I just need to decide if I am able to fit their plug and play amp myself or if I need to get down to them!

Speakers and sound deadening fitted - a huge difference but the amp upgrade is definitely the next thing to do.

Is there a market for the speakers I had taken out of the T6 ?

You recently fitted my Kenwood amp as described above. I am interested to know about the optional add on to retain the fader. Can you please PM me so we can discuss further?

I did it the other way round. I've just fitted the amp (with the Adison fader). Easy job, put amp behind top glove box. made a great difference to the oem speakers, but I decided to order the focals too just after i fitted the amp. Zip tied the amp to the steel tube behind glove box with re-usable zip ties. Fed cables from there to behind head unit. The lhs vent was a bugger to get out. BTW, there's a stealth screw to the rear of top glovebox. You need to remove lower glove box too to get at the screw. I left the middle glove box alone.

@BoroBoy I've just installed this amp too, I had the adison fader preinstalled. Its integrated to the loom, so you'll need to remove the loom and have it re-wired.

Hopefully my Focals arrive today. Yippee!

Thanks for your response. I will contact Absolute5 to see if it is integrated into mine.

Its a sizeable rectangular box integrated into the loom, you cant miss it.

Cheers I'll check later. The loom supplied with my amp had sizeable rectangular boxes at both ends of the loom. Maybe I already have the facility?

I think those are the sockets, this is halfway along loom between the sockets.

Based on how rubbish my oem ones are, I'd be doubtful. :) Useful to keep in case you sell van and return it to oem.
