Flatten-off Bulkhead In Panel Van

I get why the bulkhead is the shape that it is - to give maximum space for the front seats.

But for me, when loading the van, having a perfectly vertical bulkead would be much better. Has anyone tried to modify the van in this way? I'm thinking some batons and a sheet of wood...

I'm sure that would work. You could make a an opening so the space at the bottom is still useable too.

That is a fantastic idea! Honestly hadn't thought of that. I was planning on packing the space with loft insulation to further quieten the cab.

I'm now wondering about fabricating at stand-alone wooden unit, the back of which would match the profile of the bulkhead, which I could then secure in place. It's going to seriously test my woodworking skills...
