Hi All.

Unbelievable dealership suggesting new engine as glow plugs are corroded in and water must of got in engine and they can only get X1 glow plug out. New engine is the only way apparently ???

The van has never had water init and I've owned the van from new. Its really. Disgusting a dealer would try to charge for a new engine and labour on a out of warranty van, imagine the commision
on this one lol.

APPRECIATE, glow plugs are tricky but heat and penetrating fluid over a few days and gently they will remove - cricky van only X4 years old and covered 114k miles. Dealer says I'm expecting to much out the engine lol !!!!!

There are mobile specialist that will do the job for you ( stuck glow plugs)

example:

also they can be drilled and hellicoiled as a repair.

and even if you wanted to keep it in your garage . . . . its only the head that needs replacing, no a whole engine.

so why a new engine? - something not adding up?

why take to the main dealer if it out of warrantee? - 2nd opinion needed.

can you post the garage report? - what dealer? - time for a second opinion at another garage? - try a local indy garage - get a mobile specialist to come to you and fit new?

.

Yes mate thanks. I wanted cambelt as well so thought main dealer and book stamp be good. Dealer having a laugh and asked just for glow plug replacement and had no reply back...keep you posted bud
