This fault code was on ecu when the van was in dealers with another problem a couple of months back. The dealer said it was an old code and had cleared it. I scanned it when I got home and the code had come back straight away. It's still under warranty and with dealer again for something else. I have spoken to the mechanic about this code and he said "the code is generic and VW have told them there is nothing wrong unless there is a warning light on".
