DPF Dilemma and the van is stranded. Any ideas?

You’ve come this far, might as well finish the job, also, smash the propeller looking thing out at the front too, they’re for mixing the pig piss with the zorst gasses
At this point is it not just easier straight piping the van?

PP Tuning make custom stainless exhausts. Have dummy cats inline etc.
I had one on my old T5. Had a nice burble note to it too. Maybe give them a call. 🤷🏽

A non standard exhaust, especially a stainless steel one will stand out at the next MOT.

IIRC one of the initial problems with the van was lots of black smoke. Removing filters isn’t fixing that problem so whatever goes on will stand out unless the tester is blind.

The van was smoking badly because one of the injectors had two copper washers on it, meaning that combustion was wrong.

Combined with the fact that the DPF had never been cleaned in 176,000 miles led to it being clogged up badly, leading to not sustaining the start.

What a 'mare.

I still also suspect a bad/lazy map.

The DPF is being welded as we speak. Remap arranged for next week.

I'll be on the road again by this time next week *touch formica*

I know but there are old men in sheds that will pass anything. Stop being a killjoy 🤣
Ha, quite right.

Its one thing to do a clean and tidy job for the MOT as to not draw attention to it.

Its quite another thing to blatantly expect the tester to pass it with a straight pipe.

I don't want to put the tester in awkward position or show him any disrespect.

If I were a tester and someone drove up with a straight pipe, I'd fail them for taking the **** alone.

I'm not quite back on the road yet due to work commitments this week so only now I'm back to the van.

I've connected everything back up. Fairly straight forward after conquering my fear of working under the van on stands!

The issue I've got is that I'm struggling to clamp the AdBlue injector clamp (04L253725C).

Is there a correct/easy way of doing this?

Cheers.

Why do you want to reconnect it? Just a visual thing?

With no DPF (now you have removed the filter material) the andblue injector will become clogged with soot and that’s likely going to start throwing errors.

Because I don't want exhaust gasses escaping from there if it's not secured properly.
