Down and Out ...!

Anyone know of a T6 forum affiliate in the Battle East Sussex area who might be interested in offering their services ? Rather pay someone on here than some rando garage tbh . Just a thought .

Dirt on the mass airflow sensor? Pop it out a blast with alcohol cleaner and back in. Our Golf did something a bit like, RAC guy had no clue, no faults, rang a friend who had been a vw tech for years and he suggested this. A quick clean and it started first time. Best of luck.

Ok . So this is weird . I rang the mechanic and he was going to have a look in the next few days . So I'm looking on the forum as the fob started becoming intermittent to open/close . ( Hasn't been at all since Friday when I broke down or previously ) . I followed a guys YouTube of how to resynch a key and hey presto , lock the van , press the unlock , insert and turn the key to open them put key in ignition and turn on then off. I was trying to make the fob work but turned the key in the ignition and the bloody thing started . No slow start , no cough...just started as usual ???? I'm seriously confused now !!

The key fob was in my pocket whilst I jetwashed the van on Friday . Is there a chance I did something during my exertions washing the van to unsynch it or immobilise it ?? It's the only thing that I can think ? The earlier Carista report I posted might have alluded to that in the electronic fault but I just don't know !

A bit of overspray in your pocket, sir?!!

Joking aside, I wonder if the key fob got wet. On a previous car, the fob got wet and did weird things when using it - open all windows half way when locking, need a couple of goes to start the car (was one of those shove it in the dash to start fobs)

However it happened you provided the symptoms and found a solution that didn't involve forking out that may be helpful to other users who happen across a similar fault in the future so I salute you sir for keeping the thread updated.

Hi
Yep tried Park and Neutral - no joy ! Brake lights working ok and brake sensor responding ok on dash . I am not in any way a mechanic but it reminds me of a stuck starter motor in previous vehicles . I'd tap it if I could get to it but can't even jack it up as it's on a gravel sloping drive and lowered !! Wife's already pissed off with it as it broke down in Somerset a month ago so I fear it's days might be numbered !! Shame because its a lovely looking van and generally really well behaved ..
was it a similar fault on the last brake down you had in Somerset just curious

Nick
