So, 12 months ago I had both solenoids changed on my diff lock (T6, 199hp caravelle 4M). One was burned out, the other simply didn't work. The locker has worked fine up to now and I have made a point of using it at least once a month, indeed it's been great pulling a caravan out of a campsite without ripping the grass up before the EDL kicks in (obviously disengaging it before turning!).
A couple of weeks ago, I pushed the button, the light on the button came on, but the light on the dash doesn't light up... My first thoughts are that the 'on' solenoid is faulty, but it's only been fitted for 12 months. Yes, we've had some rain but despite VW saying it'll ford 300mm, I don't do floods, in my experience they tend to lead to electrical problems.. Is there anything else that tends to go wrong, other than the solenoid? It seems to have failed rather quickly.
