Lee how did you get the interim service done for £129 at VW? I priced it up online and it came in at £273 the other day.

Group 1 essential service..

£99 for cars
£129 for vans

They emailed me the offer, it's on the website to... I have vw Group1 garage 30 mins away from me.

My other local VW is a Marshals.


Over had both vans done now, plus an mot of only £40 if done at same time.

I had the engine mount done to, as highlighted on the bus.

Yeah I looked and saw that. Mine’s booked in with my usual Indi on the 4th Dec and it’s usually about £180 but I can’t be arsed travelling to Trafford Park to save £50.

Finaly got around to getting the Hinge/Check Strap on the drivers door fixed.

the new bracket comes Galv costed, and they wanted £300 odd to paint it - so i didnt bother.

this one wasn't broke. . . . just worn out, the wheel had stopped spinning and it made a really annoying clock,clonk,clonk . . noise every time the door was opened and closed.


just had the same job done on the BUS.

not sure i I've got a pic of the old one - but it was basicaly snapped, so didnt hold the door open at all . . . it just swung back and smashed your leggs in. . . . very anoying.

they charged 1h labour to do it @ £120+vat

and £82 for the part & £20 sundries. .



£262 all in.

Boom - we finally got there.

from April 2018 to Feburary 2026 - its taken 8 years to get here.

and that also makes this the longest Transporter I've owen at 8 years.

with my previous T5.1 being 7 years, on i olny sold that due to London going all EU and needing Euro6.

as the Eu5 had daily penalties at the time.

i wont say its been trouble free - as it hasnt.

but its been a fun 8 years.

and seeing as we have just had a new CXEB engine and BiTurbo at 82K miles i have no ambitions to change it.
