After the above mission - it was time for some upgrades.

first up was the 9" Dynavin satnav radio.

out with the old.

1778698822793.webp

with new surround, cutting and glueing the vents is a bit worring at first - but id already done this before with the same radio in the other van.

1778698916975.webp

1778698955383.webp

1778698986658.webp

we got the revers cam for this van too, so had to run the cables all the way to the back.

1778699046804.webp1778699076522.webp

1778699064721.webp

that reminds me - i need to get a DAB Fakra adapter lead.

1778699137081.webp

1778699161470.webp

just need to get used to the GUI, and embrace the CARPLAY features.

.

Next up was the Ambient down light (BMW style),

I've has this for ages, and just got round to fitting it.

-- WIFI upgrade to SUPER WIFI the GliNet Mudi7 --

the Dynavin satnav is 5Ghz wifi ONLY !!!!

so the trusty Huawei USB stick wifi has been retired. After 5 years !!!

next up - duel band, duel sim, all singing and dancing.

1778699492055.webp

1778699520527.webp

it has a removable lithium battery, so I've whipped that out and running it from the USB supply on the leisure battery, so its on 24/7.

with remote access.

I've got a SCANCOM UK 50Gb data SIM in SIM1,

and a LEBARA UK/EURO 50Gb/£15-30day SIM for Europe. (30Gb data allowance when in EU) - so ill activate it when heading ouside of UK into Europe for some cheap data.

it can also run ESims, so all bases covered.

1778699747709.webp

a cracking device - so far very impressed.

I've got one in each van now.

1778699794443.webp1778699803322.webp1778699814739.webp1778699825155.webp

I've mounted it here above the headlining, plugged into a USB feed for power, and some Velcro to stop it moving about.

so easy access to it by popping the light fixture down. . . . but nicely out the way.

I've got remote access for monitoring etc,

1778699947437.webp

.

Dashcam - I've finally fitted the BlackVue 750X

running on a 24/7 supply,

and connected to the WIFI for cloud access.

need to get some pics of that.

TBC.

60L underslung water tank - parts arrived.

I've ordered this kit.

its got the back fill feature that i like, so dont need a filling point up on the side of the van - which im not keen on the look of.

the idea is to free up space inside the van, by removing the Fresh and Grey 20L tanks I've got in the cupboard.

we are looking to drain the Grey externally into a collapsible bucket.

and have the Fresh Underslung.

1778700297732.webp

1778700386220.webp

Its a big-Boy !!!!

no just need to work out how to fit it.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

The Autocraft FreshWater Tank Kit with Backfill system allows you to quickly and easily fill your water tank using a standard hozelock fitting. This kit also includes a bespoke set of mounting brackets.

Kit Contents:

1x 60 Litre Water Tank ( Length = 960mm / Width = 920mm / Height = 210mm)

1x Stainless Steel Bracket Kit

1x 15mm to 3/4 BSP heavy duty hand valve (used to turn on and off water flow)

1x 15mm to 1/2″ adapter (used to connect to 1/2″ water pipe coming from tank)

1x 3/4″ male hozelock

2 Metres 1/2″ blue flexi water pipe

1 Metre 3/8″ breather pipe

1 x 1/2″ angled water tank fitting

2 x 1/2″ straight water tank fitting

4 x 14-22mm jubilee clips

1 x Shurflo Trailking water pump 7LPM (20PSI)

1 x Shurflo water filter

Please note, this tank is not suitable for 4Motion models or those with an underslung gas tank.

Benefits of the Autocraft water tank backfill system:

We have used this product on our own conversions and have not yet found a vehicle that it is not compatible with. The bracket is a universal fitting which means it can be placed anywhere suitable on your van, and you can avoid cutting a hole in the side of your van. This system can be fitted to new conversions or retrofitted to existing conversions.

As well as being easy to set up and quick to use this system also lets you use your water tank as a jet wash tank, providing your jet wash draws water. The backfill system doubles up as a water outlet so you can empty your tank when needed without installing a separate drain tap.

Assembly Instructions:

To assemble the backfill system, the 15mm to 1/2″ adapter has a push-fit fitting which simply clicks into the heavy duty hand valve. On the other end of the heavy duty hand valve is a threaded 3/4″ BSP fitting, the aluminium bracket is placed on this end and then the hozelock is screwed on tight (over the thread of the tap) to complete the kit. You can screw the hozelock on to the tap by hand but it needs to be as tight as possible, we recommend using pliers to ensure a secure and perfect seal.

To fit the water tank fittings you will need to drill holes in the desired locations of the tank, place the threaded fitting into the hole (with the seal on the outside of the tank where any seals are supplied) and then affix and tighten the bolt on the thread using the tank’s access hatch to reach the inside.

The breather inlet should be placed as high as possible on the tank. The water feed outlet, for water going into the van, should be placed as close to the bottom of the tank as possible. The water inlet should also be placed close to the bottom of the tank so that it can also be used to drain the tank.

When attaching the blue flexi pipe to the water tank fittings we recommend putting the pipe into hot water first to increase its flexibility.
