Convert a manual to DSG???

Hi.
Sorry if this has been covered.... tried searching but I can’t find any info.
I’m trying to find out if there’s a company who carry’s out manual to Dsg conversions near Kent.
Is it fairly straightforward?
Just bought a 68 plate T6 Edition.... almost what I wanted, was £6k off as the dealer had it as a demo with 1100 miles but as it was local so I settled with buying a manual.
Anyone know?
I specialise in auto gearboxes for buses so I have a bit of knowledge

Thanks

Anything is possible but that sounds super expensive!

6k wouldn't even buy the hardware needed to do the conversion! I would love to be there when you took the van in for warranty work...would those techs scratch their heads or what when they saw your van...

I dont know, i just had a complete new DSG gearbox/mechatronic/clutch pack/DMF fitted by main dealer and the total bill was less than 6K inc vat !
I dont think swapping the gearboxes will be the tricky part (although its obviously not easy) but the software/control modules, lots of modules seem to be programmed on a far deeper level than coding with VCDS, yes you can change coding for basic settings but some modules will not accept large changes and may require replacement, im not saying they will or wont i just think there a realistic chance and if you need more than one it will add a significant sum to the overall job, main suspects would be engine, ABS & instruments
I had scan through and these modules all reference the gearbox type/settings
01-engine
03-abs
09-bcm
13-front assist
17-instruments

Thanks for your responses.
Well that’s pretty much brought an end to my idea of a conversion!
To much work involved for me, especially as it’s heavily ecu & program based.

Don't forget stuff like the pedal box, gear selector, wiring looms etc.

Used to be easy back in the days of Escort Mk2 and Morris Marinas when there was very little variance between auto and manual versions og the same car.

You could ask HazyDayz if it has evrr been done. Remember that you will have a gearbox and other bits to resell to recoup some of the cost.

You would have to be pretty brave to do all that to a 68plate edition i would of waited if you really wanted dsg and bought a dsg?
Manual definitely isn’t a bad option
I went the other way on my t4 multivan and it was no easy or cheap job .

I suppose i settled with it as it was local from a dealer. Edition with Dsg were pretty hard to find... well when I was looking
Got it kitted out for work now so extra happy.
I’ll post up some pics soon

Has anyone ever had a conversion from manual to dsg ?
I know it would be big money but wondered if there is any specialists out there that do this conversion

I can't answer your question specifically, but even if it can be done (everything can be done if you throw enough cash at it) I'd be amazed if it could stack up financially compared with selling the manual T6 and buying a similar one with a DSG box.

Anything is possible given enough time and cash, but conversions like this are normally extremely complicated, mainly due to the electrical issues to be resolved. Unless the van is somehow very special, it's going to be hugely easier to flog the manual just buy a DSG.

I have went the harder way converting in a 2006 t5
Modifyed a audi rs3 engine / 7 speed dsg gearbox / shifter / ecu / pedal box / servo / abs pump / canbus /cluster /also added t6 dash ( I didn’t add the bcm but gearbox works fine in manual and sports / manual shifting / long as gearbox sees abs signal for speed sensor no issuise , 525bhp , people telling me it couldn’t be done. , it can a bit of help/ knowledge. ,
