Caravelle Door Cards And Ambient Lights

Ok thanks @Pauly , as you can see in the photos above,the door pull light has a lead and plug attached to it but the other one doesnt. Could you make me a lead to attach to the one that doesnt have one please? Would i cut the plug off the door pull one to connect it or could the two lights be connected together and then joined into the wiring to the windows etc,thanks very much

Cheers, in the end I just made up some leads with the pins and used some sealant to hold them in place, cost ~£0.00

Hello all.

I've bought some caravelle door cards with ambient lighting and would like to get them working. I know the wiring is already present in the doors ready to be tapped into however I don't have the plugs for the main light in the top pocket or the connector for the door handle light. Does anyone know where I can get the connectors/part numbers or better still a pre made harness that I can just tag into the wiring?

Part number for the brown connectors you need is 8k0973754 and you can get them on ebay @Gazbadge

Do the lights function in different ways when connected up as per factory? I'm just wondering why they have separate terminals and not just wired to one connector block?

Quick question, do the factory Caravelle ambient lights illuminate red or white? If doing a retrofit it would be nice to keep all cab illumination the same colour.

@RyanGerry Not done them yet. I had to order some connectors for the lights. They came yesterday so if I get chance will fit this weekend.

Fitted the caravelle door cards this afternoon/evening. Made up a couple of very simple looms once all the connectors turned up. I've used some auto connectors so the cards are still removable without any trouble. Other than that just crimps and loom tape. Tapped them into the ambient lighting circuit grey/blue from the window/mirror switches. I've took some pictures incase anyone is interested in doing the same... I'm no auto electrician but my wiring makes sense to me.
The lights are very subtle, I like that. They come on with the headlights and dim down along with the dash lights.

These are the plugs bought, they are the same part number (8K0973754) as mentioned above apart from the (a) at the end of the number which I assume means thay are opposite handed. They are the only ones I could find in the UK so I got them so I didn't have to wait for delivery from China. If ypu buy these you will have to remove the 2 lugs with a Stanley blade to make them universal... hope that makes sense. I've highlighted the lugs in the picture below.... following their removal they will fit perfectly.
