Camping Ideas and Tips

Possible camping usefulness I've pondered if these tiny rechargeable fishing lure LEDs reviewed by BigClive might be useful as awning line markers...

It’s going to take more than subconscious mind control for me to buy any. :(
That’s what I said, then one day I ordered them o_O

Tbh I’m sold on them now, I wear them in the house, I wear them in the van and next weekend I’ll be wearing them round the campsite. Even thinking that maybe I should buy another pair so I can keep a pair clean for wearing in the house

Gonna be a busy couple of months for me since I bought this. Some of my T6 stuff does not fit. I also ahve a paylod issue if I am not careful at 3200kg I am not left much space with a 2700kg van. Thats before water, people and camping stuff.

I need a lightweight sun canopy with side and preferably a door. Looking at another Maypole but it has to be 2.6m high at the van. Talking to Thule about what they have but it's heavy stuff. Suggestion greatly received.

I'll fund it by selling

1x Vango Kelo IV drive awning with double bedroom and other bits.
1 X maypole stratford Air sun canopy with sides and an Outwell suncanopy
1 x T6 Custom covers windscreen cover.
1 x Cadac Grillo Chef and covers

Have a word with Van Weight Engineering Ltd Mick who have up-plated a few of us on here, my T28 is now officially a T31, an extra 300 kg of wine or beer! Purely a paperwork exercise, £276 when I did it a year ago. Husband and wife team.

IMG_6069.jpegIMG_6070.jpegGot this roof storage thing, only temporary installed at the moment to see if it’s any good. It hangs off the bed platform and has a big netted pocket. Currently only supporting the Drying towels but has come in really useful to keep stuff out of the way.

Camping Shower - 2025 reboot

we had a similar setup ages ago.

this version is shamelessly copied from @Drive Wayne Busfest setup last year.

though i believe he has now upgraded to a proper heated Joolca jobbie.

anyway, this works great when you need a quick shower and cant be bothered to cue at the Busfest Shower block.

or you are wild camping in the middle of who knows where.

++++++

get one of these . . . pop up utility tents.

add in a handy folding bucket . . . (for the clean water, cold + a kettle of hot)

We will use exactly the same shower system as yours, we have the Joolca double ensuite (It survived after the 'Bala Gale'), but not the proper Joolca hot water system, too spensive for rare usage. We have a pink/white shower tray in ours that looks really special!
Same bucket, two thirds full of cold then a kettleful of boiling takes it to around 38 degrees, perfect and surprisingly good!
I thought the Mrs was wasting money buying that, I was wrong!
Here's a pic from last years Busfest in the single Cayman Can toilet tent, nice now with the double ensuite to have a room for wifeys Bivvy Loo and the shower t'other side.

My Mrs is tough, she often just uses cold water pored over herself with a jug no matter what the weather even in the winter, at best just tepid. Evidently that is what she had at school in the good old days! I shudder at the thought particularly that stage when washing off all the soap particularly from ones hair. I on the other hand am on the nesh side and prefer my shower or bathing done with very warm water.
