Brake squeel

Purchased my van beginning of the year and only had 4500 miles on it ...last week brakes started to squeel now done 8300 miles
Disappointed after a phone call to VW
As they say it's wear and tear I'll be paying to have it fixed even if it just needs cleaned up ,but they would kindly throw in a "free" health check for the van ,so kind of them .

Anybody else had issues with this ?
Or been able to remedy the noise ?

Cheers

Stick a pressure washer through the spokes of the wheel to clean out brake dust from discs/callipers and could try some copper grease on the rear of the pads

I had the same issue around 5,000 miles. Dealer cleaned and copper greased the pads etc. It has made a huge difference but I'm now getting the occasional squeak back!! I also had the same issue on my Amarok.

I've tried flushing out with water...
Bit better but noise still there before I done that
I noticed a squeel when st a low speed even when brakes aren't on :(

I've emailed vw commercial stating my dissatisfaction, I'll see if they say anything different to my local dealership ...

Just finished having a courtesy call with VW ... Didn't start well ...Hi it's ... from VAUXHALL !!
Basically it's still a wear and tear issue regardless how long i've had it and costs will be mine .

Any brake pad recommendations ?
cheers

Delphi aren't too bad for a std pad, if you get a hard pad so that it lasts, they eat the disks m8, try removing pads and sanding back a bit to clean up pad material in case they are glazed..

Will do cheers  I want to try and avoid paying more money to VW

Just put a bit of say 240 grit paper on a bit of board and rub pad material over it in a circular motion Or better still a fig of 8, until surface is dull, if it's shiny its glazed.. Do it anyway, and see what happens m8.. Another thing you could do is use a drop of copper slip on the back of pad to piston, but if not used to this don't try it as you don't want to get it wrong and land up with grease on your brakes... Btw, don't blow the dust off with your mouth, use a can of brake cleaner and let it dry... Brake dust is hazardous to ones lungs...

It is time to either make acquaintance with an independent marque specialist or get the tools out and do it yourself. Transporters are heavy vehicles and are thus heavy on the brake wear. Changing discs and pads isn't that difficult and you will save a bundle if you do the job yourself instead of getting VW to do it.

I have done 37k in my T32 4motion, most of it loaded with tools, quite a few towing a caravan, and I am not a dawdler! Mine just went in for its second service and the pads are only 30% worn at either end. So after 8K you should have no problem at all.

Cheers for the advice guys, got some copper paste from my local mechanic for free .
Quite straightforward to remove and carry out the task, So far so good
