No, the camera comes up to the right of the lock barrel then the cable travels along the trim and goes up through the same rubber bung as the number plate lightHow did you route the wires into the door, did you have to drill a hole?
This is what I'm starting to get worried about! However still really happy with mine...I have the bog standard VW unit so been looking for something different for a while with out spending a fortune, at least this way I get to blame @tomosllyr if it’s rubbish![]()
Same here. But should I save the pennies for camperham?sorely tempted.....
Have you checked if it will work with original mic? It may be worth askingI am also really tempted with one of these......sounds like steering wheel controls, front and rear sensors are all plug and play with an extra wiring loom but the only thing I am confused about is why the original Mic is not able to be used??
I haven't no, I assumed that's why you bought one. I had an aftermarket stereo in my old van and I couldn't use the existing Mic on that unit. It was never as good as the og Mic (I had a few people say it was very muffled and could here more road/ background noise than voice) hence my reservations.Have you checked if it will work with original mic? I've bought the external mic because I don't have an original one, and was advised the built in one can struggle in vans. I've mounted the external one just above driver's seat and it works really well.

Post 1 has a link to their website which has the prices and specsWhat price are these head unit look very good
I'm planning on putting obd11 and vagdpf on it over the weekend so I can feedback on those. I dont use Carista though.I have the £180 unit in my basket. Wondering if I'm gonna suffer without the max ram/rom. I dunno what apps I could possibly fill it up with to the point it is overwhelmed.
Has anyone bought the ACS-VW840 / 4GB RAM + 64GB ROM / Octa Core version and running it happily?
I'm intrigued to see if Carista works on it also? Anyone tried it?
This was my exact thinking when I chose the higher spec oneYou will have forgotten the extra money in x years when the unit is still working and snappy. You will remember the money you didn't spend when its slowed down.
You shouldn't be worried about extra storage space but the extra RAM is always important.

That’s the one I bought but to be fair I only expect to run Waze and listen to music/ radio- haven’t had it in long enough to comment on performanceI have the £180 unit in my basket. Pay with a credit card, keep the invoice, consumer protection assured.I would imagine at this rate they will be out of T6 variant stock by the time I have made up my mind.
I can't seem to find warranty info on @AndroidCarStereoUK website. They don't seem to have posted on the forum since the awkwardness the other day with @evansa 's initial issues with their unit that was dimly lit, tinny in sound and hot like the sun (but apparently that's normal)- I wonder what has come of that situation?
