WAZE lag on Android Auto

OK, got the weirdest problem on my T6.1 head unit connected to Android Auto. Started happening last June randomly but hasn't cleared itself yet.
Basically, when using AA, Waze lags the vehicle position by about 1-200m. So it shows my van behind where it actually is on Waze. It doesn't happen in Google Maps, it doesn't happen on my phone when using Waze, it doesn't happen in another vehicle using AA. So it has something to do with the T6.1 unit and its Android Auto interface. Tried resetting the unit, didn't help. Tried full reinstall of Waze, didn't fix it. Even Waze support couldn't help.

Anyone have a similar problem? Did you solve it?

I had a similar Waze issue that didn't resolve. I paid £12.99 for Sygic which is great because you can make it swear for various road issues!
12 months happily using it, but the last 2 times using it, it has been behind me, the voice commands are perfect and on time, if not a bit sweary.... the maps are lagging. Not good with a Euro trip looming.

I use Waze with Morgan Freeman's voice, because you know God would never give duff directions.

i had it done at vw retrofit but i think there is a couple who can do it. tbh im not keen on waze as it doesn't warn of cameras unless you're already speeding, i use tomtom free which works better for me

works fine with aa wireless dongle as well

I'm using it through an Ottocast doodah, it worked fine until very recently...

My Waze worked perfectly for 2 years then all of a sudden lagged! Sygic has been great and very customisable, there's even an icon of a barn door van which pleases me! But now it lags. Redditch here we come!
