A little wave makes you feel good.

The missus blankly refuses to wave even when she's driving .
She does allow me to wave but probably thinks I'm just a saddo for doing so ...especially when no bugger waves back! 😊
Maybe it's the badgsless grille ...or the elitist attitude of the t6 owners around these parts šŸ¤”
Plenty of old folk around us that obviously buy a bus just to look cool ....as opposed to riding the other bus that they get a free pass for . 🤪

I'll have you know I resemble that remark! 🄸
However I have noticed that there seems to be a lot of older couples in camper conversion Transporters particularly those rolling high on shirt button wheel and tyre combos and quite often they seem oblivious to my pensioner gangsta lean wave.
To this end I did actually try and change my appearance and see if I could possibly identify more with a wider section of the Transporter community and get that wave count back up...

It's this or my beanie hat but both make my head sweat.:geek:

You have far too much hair to identify with the more senior Transporter owners demographic.

The glasses are perfect though.

If someone acknowledges me and I see it I will try to respond in time but at normal road speeds it gone like a flash. I do not feel particularly inclined to wave at someone just because they have a similar vehicle. Their are so many of them and although if I thought it was someone that I speak to on here then of course I would try and acknowledge them at the first instance. I felt the same on m bikes. So many prats and butterflies, why do I want to wave at them. Sure the vast majority of people regularly on here are fine and the occasional delivery guy that can actually bother to find my address of delivery but so many of them are well I wont say it, so many vans now out here not campers but just parked at addresses. I wave or give the hand salute to someone that has pulled in to make way or done some other kind thing. How does one know that it is not some aspiring Ronald Biggs driving the next passing van...:)

Allways wave....been down to Devon/Cornwall and my wrist got tired!!......Now livng in the North East and had a few waves, but most are hireing vans and don't know about it.Met a lovelly Dutch couple (helps when your vans are the same colour) and they had never heard of the wave.......must have thought we are all mad over here!

I reached for the sun visor the other day only to realise another T5 was on the opposite carriageway and the lady driving thought I was waving.

I then tried to return a wave as she passed - looked like I’d turned into Elon Musk while she was obviously just working out I wasn’t waving originally so she was trying to style out her wave by running her fingers through her hair.

All very awkward, but still fun!

Old Land Rover owner here. I find it’s just a reflection of modern drivers. Lots aren’t ā€œintoā€ their cars like I’ve always been. I think I’ve only had a couple of waves in my, admittedly rather stock, t6 van. Used to get loads 15-20 years back in t4s.

But it’s the same in the Landy. Modern Landy drivers are far less likely to wave, even when waved at by a classic.

Sad times. I’ll keep waving mind, even if it does seem to confuse more than delight šŸ˜‚
