Need help: Bilstein B14 comfort TÜV papers

Hi all,

I am new to the forum. Looking forward to join in on the conversations - lots of interesting topics on here.

I recently bought a pre-facelift T5 (2008 2.5 TDI 4Motion BNZ 96kw T30) which is an "urban swamper" sort of project. However, I bumped into a bit of an issue. I ordered a Bilstein B14 comfort kit from Transporter HQ, which I had installed recently and the drive quality dramatically improved. (My wheels are JBW ROC gunmetal grey with BFG Trail-Terrains 235/55/R18.) But as I went for an MOT recently ("EU control" in Norway, where I live), it did not pass as the new suspension was not approved in the Vehicle Registration Certificate. Now, in order to get it approved, I need the TÜV documentation, which was not provided by THQ - when I asked them, they pointed me to Bilstein directly, where I do not find any TÜV papers for my specific model. I also do not find anywhere to get in touch with someone from Bilstein.

Since the MOT needs to be done by end of April, this is starting to get a bit urgent, since appointments need to be booked etc. In the worst case, the suspension is not actually TÜV approved for my T5 at all (which contradicts all the information I find online), in which case I am in for some pretty frustrating extra costs at this point.

Any helpful advice regarding my issue would be very much appreciated!

PS I, I used this page to search for the documentation: PKW

PS II, on this page it states that the kit does not fit my car (although I can confirm it fits very well physically): https://performance.bilstein.com/en/products/bilstein-b14/

PS III, this is the kit I ordered from THQ, where it does state that it fits T26/T28/T30 - VW Transporter T5-T6.1 between 2003-2024: https://transporterhq.co.uk/vw-tran...ilstein-b14-komfort-coilover-kit-t26-t28-t30/

as far as I know Bilstein does not provide Tüv, but Eibach does for the springs. Paint the Bilsteins to black and get TüV for the springs and you good tp goo.

Painting them and pretending is an idea, although I've no idea how strict the Norwegian authorities are over acts of attempted deception, so id only do that as a last resort. Mind you, by the time you have removed them to repaint them you could slap in some new ones for which the necessary paperwork is available.

Bedt of luck.

Hi Limalex,

Cheers - it is the black suspension I have already actually. Thankfully I found the papers in the end, so hope approval should be ok. The TÜV is for the combination of the Bilstein suspension and Eibach springs.

Here are the documents: https://deimann-fahrwerktechnik.de/pdf/B14-KOMFORT-TUEV-inkl.01erFeder19-TAAS-0555_E2.pdf
