200,000 miles - what to do to “celebrate”?

So my bus is about to hit 200,000 miles and to me this is a pretty monumental occasion as I’ve never had a vehicle hit this mileage before.

So did you do anything to celebrate it? (New bit for the bus or a full detail / bit of love shown towards it) or did you just pull over and take the obligatory photo of the tacho readout?!

Love that pic wheels and colour combo 😍. I love posts like this especially when its celebrating high miles.

Anymore pics ?

This cheers me up - mines approaching 80k after almost 7 years and hoping to keep it for another 7 years

Anything specific you've done re maintenance (like oil changes every 6000 miles) or any major issues? I had a manifold replaced a couple of years ago which was spenny and concerning re longevity of the beast

Awesome....

Celebrate by sharing the service and parts history on your van.

What work and maintenance have you had done while owning the van?

I'm just over the 100k mark with the 2018 work van.

Treat it to a 'High Mileage Hero' sticker from the Auto Alex merch shop.

Bus looks good Adi 👍
Whats in the bowl , ice cream ?

Our van is about to reach 150k ..dunno how to celebrate yet 🤔
Thanks 😊

In the bowl was my brekkie - overnight oats, proper Greek yoghurt with lots of chia / flax / pumpkin and sunflower seeds and loads of yummy berries. 😋

No magic or secrets -
Oil, Filters and the usual consumables stuff ever 6months regardless of mileage. Chassis bits as required (it’s poli bushed all round etc)

DSG Transmission was changed at 140isj km

I maintain it all myself (I’m an automotive engineer for a big UK OEM by apprenticeship and trade, so know my way around a vehicle and im now a paint engineer too) and absolutely love keeping it looking as close to as new (or better!! as I can).

ALWAYS hand washed, paint corrected and detailed by myself - every time it gets dirty it gets washed …. So literally every day in the winter (seriously that sad!)

😎

That's true dedication.

I salute you sir.

Well done, the van looks great.

You should rightfully proud of it.

Are you keeping it for the long haul now?

Planning on doing another 100k?

200k is a great achievement, but for the van to be looking at smart is nothing short of remarkable.

An oil change with the finest lube and filters to show the van you love it, and a well deserved bottle of scotch for you for keeping the old girl so well.

I might reach 10k this year, which according to tradition is the 'furry dice' anniversary.

Thats a stunning van. The fact it has 200K is fantastic.
I am a highmiler (me and the van ).

Apart from oils, I also add Archoil in every tank.
