Good evening all,

Just a note to say that Brook Meadow are booked for a private event on this weekend so am looking for an alternative venue around Market Harborough. With this in mind I need to have an idea of numbers so please could I ask those interested to respond to this thread and RSVP above.

cheers

cz.

Rough guess 10-15 vans based on last year?

I've rsvp'd

I think it will be good to find a second venue, long overdue me thinks.

:mexican wave:

Dubs 'int' Dales has been rescheduled to 22 - 24 Sept and relocated again at Bedale, N.Yorks. I know it may be a bit too far oop North to travel for some people. But we could keep it on the back burner, in case we need somewhere.

I may go to that. My old stomping ground

So the sites found so far - near to Market Harborough - are:

and

Mick has kindly visited both and was of the opinion that the 'Rural Relaxing' site was the better option but had a sloping field, see image below (from google).

I believe there are toilet / shower facilities, just limited in number.

@Mick, can you relay what the lady said to you re the site?

I'll keep looking for some other options.

Rural Relaxing - Very friendly and accommodating owner small site, with an enclosed field, out in the sticks . Not much room for parking outside the field but we'd have the site to ourselves.. But the only downside is there is a slight slope the field and we'd need chocks. There is a 'pavilion' type shed in the middle of the field for the use of campers along with 'washing machine drum' firepits scattered about. Has a small cafe under canvas that'll be open on the Saturday and Sunday morning for breakfast rolls/cobs/batches and most of the day for coffee and cakes. There are a number of benches and tables in this area. They'll also take orders for pizzas for the Saturday night. They also have a large furnished Tepee for wedding which we can use if there is no weddings but there is a no dog or children policy in the tepee. Dogs can run round the fenced enclosed field just pick up after them: lead policy at all times whilst outside the field. Music is no issue cos she said we are a mature group and she didn't foresee any issues. Directly over the road is a Sports club with a bar we can use but the village pub is only 2-300 metres away. Small shop in the village. Male and female toilets and showers small but adequate there is also a 'Woman's Room' with toilet, showers and mirrors etc. Plenty of hiking and biking opportunities.

Grendon Lakes - Big site loads of room, couple of fishing lakes and also a wedding venue. Has a clubhouse but she said it probably won't be open in September. I building of toilets and showers but the tracks to it and driving around are all not the best. Also it's quite remote no pubs nearby. Worse that Sibbertoft for that issue. They do have a paintball place adjoining and there are boats etc on the lake. No music, anal about dogs on leads. Ed jumped out the car I went to put his lead on and i was told get him on a lead. Got no warm vibes and i imagine it would be a nightmare at the slightest indiscretion.

I vote for rural relaxing. Seems like a decent place, with a pub so close. What's not to like?
